Low Power Consumption
The Bactest technology is designed with minimal power requirement. Advanced, state of the art materials, components and design ensure that the system will run with low power consumption.
Blood Cultures run continuously for up to seven days and interuption of the culture run due to a power outage may influence culture conditions and corrupt data.
Conventional instruments by nature of thier design require a large power usage.
Power consumption is a factor for both large and small laboratories. A lower power rating in a larger laboratory reduces demand on valuable back up power generation in the event of a power failure. In a smaller laborator provision of power back up may be problematic.
Bactest specifically set out to solve the power issue by designing instruments that feature state of the art materials and electronics to reduce power usage to a minimum.
Additionally, utilising a low voltage supply means that the Bactest instrument can readily fun off a number of different power sources in diverse environments, across all geographies.
If power supply is not reliable or only available from power-limited sources, simple, commonly available back-up supplies can be used.

- Be used in sites with intermittent power supply
- Operate locally with any convenient power source
Bactest Technology is particularly suited to environments where infrastucture is under-developed or situations such as developing countries where there is a drive to improve healthcare across a wide geographical region and where financial resources are limited.
