Modular Design

Bactest has developed the ultimate in modular design. Each test is performed using an instrument module that carries out a range of functions to complete that test.

Each Instrument module is itself made up of several smaller modules, each with a specific function. The benefits to the user are many fold:

  • Suitable for decentralised testing
  • The number of modules can be matched to the localised testing requirement of the individual laboratory
  • No wasted spend on unused incubator space
  • Can be built of with suitable racks to accommodate expanding laboratory workload
  • Can be sited anywhere, independent of an incubator or centralised laboratory
  • Compact and space saving
  • Where modules are aggregated, individual failures do not affect the other modules
  • No large capital outlay – no waiting for annual funding round
  • Suitable for specific utility not covered by larger instruments
  • Can be used alongside, and to protect large instruments in “high risk” situations
  • Low entry cost
  • Minimal financial risk in testing the technology
  • Can be “daisy chained” together for interrogation by electronic means (PC) and delivering hard copy read out.

Instrument modules can be aggregated into racks of variable design to meet local space requirements.
